| Why can’t I get my shower clean using shop bought cleaning products? | |
| Grout is very similar to a sponge; it absorbs contaminants like dirt, bacteria, mould and mildew easily. Over time these contaminants become engrained in the grout making cleaning very difficult. Unfortunately, harsh cleaning products especially when coupled with abrasive scrubbing, slowly erode the grout making it more porous. Eventually further mould growth and moisture damage eventuate. The answer is to have the shower regrouted. Tile Rescue removes a portion of the old grout using a special tool and new grout containing an anti-mould inhibitor is applied. Following the application of the new grout the surface is sealed to protect the grout from future staining and moisture penetration. Once the Tile Rescue technician completes the shower makeover service, cleaning will be significantly easier. After each use, wipe down the shower walls and glass with a soft damp cloth. Tile Rescue recommends newly serviced showers be cleaned with the Tile Rescue Natural Cleaner and Tile Rescue cleaning cloth. This Natural Cleaner is a unique blend of essential oils and essences, is safe for the environment and prevents the build up of soap scum. |
| What’s the difference between Tile Rescue’s shower repair service and using a general tradesman? | |
| In short, Tile Rescue’s leaking shower repair service is more thorough. Shower leaks can happen for a number of reasons and it is not always apparent why the shower is leaking and how to repair the leak. When left unattended or not properly repaired a leaking shower can cause extensive moisture damage either to surrounding rooms or under the house, each that will require very expensive repairs. All Tile Rescue technicians are specifically trained to identify the leak, looking at five key points where most leaks occur. Unlike regular tradesmen, Tile Rescue technicians use the latest and the best materials. We are constantly looking for the best products to ensure our services are of the highest quality. Because showers are a highly functional area of the home, we work hard at minimizing the disruption of having the shower repaired. A technician can usually complete a shower repair in just a few hours so that your shower is ready for use the next day. While using a tradesman or repairing the leak yourself is an option, Tile Rescue urges customers that it is wiser to have the job done properly by an expert. |
| What does the Tile Rescue clean and seal service do? | |
| High use areas such as living areas, kitchens, bathrooms and hallways can easily become grubby with ingrained dirt and grime. The Tile Rescue Turbo Cleaning system gives tiles and grout the deep clean required to bring back its original shine. The Turbo Cleaning head massages the surface of the tiles, agitating the build up of dirt and grime so that it may be easily wiped away. Once the tiles and grout are properly cleaned, if needed we apply a penetrative sealer creating a protective film over the tiles and grout protecting them from further stains, wear and tear. |
| Why does my newly laid tiles seem to have a haze on them? | |
| When most tiles are made at the tile factory they usually have a wax coating applied to the surface to protect them until they are laid. It is important at this stage that the coating be thoroughly removed. However, the correct solution must be applied so as to not damage the tiles or grout. Finally, if needed a high grade penetrating sealer is applied. Another cause can be grout haze which is caused during the grouting of the tiles. Wet grout can get into the pores of the tile and become very difficult to remove. It is important to ask a Tile Rescue technician to remove this ‘grout haze’. Tile Rescue uses specific products specifically designed to remove the ‘haze’ without damaging the surface of tile. We strongly recommend that customers do not attempt to remove the grout haze themselves as harsh scrubbing can damage the tiles and cause the new grout to crumble. |
