It is not harmful to your pets after application but during the process pets should not be allowed to walk in the area that is being treated.
The chemicals will only be on the floor for a short time but most of the work is in the preparation, cleaning, sample test, and it needs to be rinsed three times. It would depend on how many square metres you are doing.

Leaking Shower Repairs
A leaking shower recess is one of the most common building faults in most homes and is usually caused by faulty waterproofing and cracked and worn out grout which can be caused by structural movement and age. It’s a good idea to have your shower regrouted every 5 to 7 years and have flexible marine grade seals installed
A leaking shower recess can lead to structural damage and expensive repairs. As soon as a leak is suspected, it should be investigated and repaired.
There are a number of causes for showers leaking, such as poor quality and ageing grout between floor and wall tiles, or defective taps or plumbing, but one of the most common causes is the gap between the floor and wall of the shower recess which is caused by vibration or movement in the floor. The grouting between the tiles is not strong enough to resist expansion, or seal the gap between and wall. So what happens? It leaks.
Silicones and other off the shelf products may work for a limited period, however to remove dirt, mould and build up will not work without a licensed tradesmen. By totally preventing water from penetrating through the gaps and joints of the shower recess we recommend the Tile Rescue Premium shower reseal without removing tiles which provides a long lasting and cost effective solution
Sealing Tiles and Stone
All natural stone tiles should be sealed such as Marble, Lime Stone, Travertine, Granite, Terracotta, and some man made tiles.
Sealing your tile and grout floor (and walls) is the only way to protect your investment from water-based and oil-based stains. A sealer prevents a spill from penetrating into the porous surface of the floor, and gives you time to clean it up.
A penetrating sealer repels water and oil-based contaminants, and prevents stains caused by most food and beverages. It will also protect the surface of the tile and grout from dirt and impurities and prevent them from being worked into the surface.
To find out if your tiles have been sealed simply drop some water on the surface of the tile. If the tile has been sufficiently sealed, you should see that the water beads up on the surface. The water will also ‘roll’ across the tile if you blow on it. If the water does not bead, and does roll across the surface of the tile, then either your tiles have not been sealed, or they require resealing.
Expected wear may vary depending on the type of sealer, the hardness and texture of surface, type of area, surface wear, frequency, and type of maintenance products used. However for most clear sealers the expected wear is up to 5 years and can be as high as 15 years. Weather conditions, harsh cleaning methods, and high-alkaline, acidic, or solvent-based cleaners will affect wear. But Tile Rescue only recommends using a premium sealer.
As a rule of thumb, textured and honed porcelain doesn’t need to be sealed, but polished porcelain often does need to be. The tiny pores that accept staining are created in the polishing process. A good penetrating sealer fills these pores and sets up good stain protection. The textured tiles generally just need a good clean because of the “rough” surface. If you are not sure, do a stain test. Get a sample tile or an off-cut and try to stain it with the things common to that area. If it stains, there is a benefit to having the tile sealed.
No. The ceramic tile is sealed in the manufacturing process. It is important, however, to seal the grout between the tiles.
The drying time will depend on humidity, tile and grout porosity, and air temperature. It is safe to say that the sealer should achieve full cure in 24 hours.
Nothing is maintenance free! Sealing makes your surface easier to clean. Contaminants can sit on the surface longer, so you have more time to clean up before any staining occurs. On some unsealed tiles and stone, staining can start immediately. Think of your stone sealing product as a bottle of time. No stone sealing product will make a porous surface stain-proof, but will make it highly stain resistant. Using the correct stone cleaning products, such as that Recommended and used by Tile Rescue also makes a difference.
Sealing changes the characteristics of the tile or stone. It doesn’t change the environment. If you have a damp shady backyard the stone sealing product can’t change that. It reduces the porosity of the tile or stone and inhibits the growth and makes cleaning easier.
